The Firm

KTAP traces its roots back to 1986, when Stuart Kudman and Gary Trachten came together to create a law firm dedicated to client service and quality legal competence. The firm and its attorneys put the needs of its clients first, expending significant time committed to ensuring their protection, goals and objectives and advancement.

During the first ten years of its existence, the firm grew to a small but significant force as a law firm, serving the needs of entrepreneurs and small and medium sized businesses. By 2013, the firm grew to a full-service law firm, servicing the needs of larger, more established institutional clients, including domestic and international clients requiring general commercial and business legal advice and transactional, litigation and creditors’ rights support, and counsel. By that point, it was providing high end, transactional legal services to clients on a global basis, typically representing companies opposite many of the AMLaw100 and AMLaw200, that is the largest law firms in the U.S. and abroad. It is a testament to the firm and the quality of its lawyers that it is able to do so, particularly at significantly lower billable rates than its competitors. It prides itself on its significant business acumen and full understanding of its client’s businesses to meet its much larger competitors advantageously in a transaction or negotiation.

KTAP has never lost track of its roots and still spends significant time in the apparel and jewelry industries.

Currently, the firm’s practice is focused on commercial transactional work, including complex commercial litigation, buy and sell side transactional mergers and acquisitions work, corporate finance and day to day corporate and commercial work.
